We’ll
be
travelling
back
in
time,
to
the
time
when
the
Portuguese
were
involved
in
the
biggest
enterprise
in
the
world:
discovering
the
sea
route
to
Índia.
And
all
this started from Lagos in southern Portugal.
Lagos
is
a
fantastic
town
in
the
western
Algarve
t
hat
can
certainly
be
enjoyed
by
all
age
groups.
In
the
15th
century
it
was
the
operational
base
from
which
Portugal
explored
the
African
coast.
It
was
here
that
prince
Henry
armed
the
caravels
for
the
Discoveries.
All
over
the
town,
street
names
allude
to
the
Discovery.
Among
the
historic
buildings
and
monuments,
the
first
slave
market
in
Europe and the baroque St Anthony’s church stand out.
Ponta
da
Piedade
will
leave
you
speechless…
it’s
hard
to
see
so
much
beauty
together! It was considered the most beautiful beach in the world
The
tour
wouldn´t
be
complete
without
a
stop
at
St
Vincent’s
Cape,
the
so
called
end
of
the
world,
and
Sagres,
the
town
nearby,
that
still
breathes
history..
We
do
not
miss
Sagres
Fortress,
which
was
the
site
of
the
Naval
School
of
Prince
Henry,
and
a
meeting
place
for
astronomers,
cartographers
and
sailors
of
the
time.
It
contains an impressive rose winds that measures 43 meters in diameter.
And that’s where our discoveries come to an end…
